Shop / dorsal night splint for plantar fasciitis
The Alpha Medical Plantar Fasciitis Night Splint is a highly recommended product for gradual use. It is designed to treat conditions such as Plantar Fasciitis and Achilles Tendonitis, as recommended by your doctor. This night splint provides fast relief by cradling your ankle in a neutral position, passively stretching the calf and plantar fascia while you sleep. This gentle stretch helps reduce muscle contracture, inflammation, and associated pain.
The night splint features a lightweight and breathable shell with three padded straps that can be adjusted for immobilization. The straps have buckles for added security. The padding is covered in washable Lycra for maximum comfort against the skin. The size guide is indicated by stickers on the brace: S for Small, M for Medium, and L for Large. The night splint works for both feet and is not specific to the left or right.
To prepare the night splint for use, un-attach the 3 straps across the front of the brace using the quick-snaps provided. Do not loosen the dorsi-flexion straps. To apply the night splint, place your foot into it, ensuring that the heel fits snugly against the heel of the splint. Attach the bottom strap and adjust it until it is snug. The straps should be fed under the dorsi-flexion straps. Continue by attaching the remaining 2 straps and adjust them for tightness as needed.
The night splint also comes with a foam wedge that can be adjusted or removed to increase or decrease the stretch of the calf and plantar fascia. To use the wedge, lift up the fabric pad at the toe area of the boot and slide the wedge underneath. Then affix the Velcro on the wedge to the Velcro on the bottom of the boot.
Plantar Fasciitis Facts: Plantar fasciitis is the most common cause of heel and foot pain. It occurs when the plantar fascia, the ligament that connects the heel bone to the toes and supports the arch of the foot, becomes strained or injured. This leads to inflammation, weakness, swelling, and irritation. The pain is often most severe in the morning after a night's sleep. Plantar fasciitis is common among active individuals who spend a lot of time on their feet, such as runners, athletes, and those in occupations that involve walking or standing for extended periods.
To clean the night splint, hand wash it using cold water and mild detergent. Air dry it. Do not dry clean, iron, or bleach any part of the brace.
Overall, the Alpha Medical Plantar Fasciitis Night Splint is a recommended product that provides relief from foot and heel pain, offers comfort, and aids in the rehabilitation process.
